Fruits of Bangladesh (বাংলাদেশের ফল)
Introduction: Bangladesh is rich in fruits. She produces various kinds of fruits all year round Some are green, others yellow. Many of them are sweet and a few are sour. Whatever may be their size, color, and taste almost all of them are beneficial for health.
Mango: The Mango, is the king of fruits. It takes the position by its sweetness and nutrition. It grows all over the country. But the Mangoes of Rajshahi and Dinajpur are the best. The Mangoes have several varieties such as Fazli. Langra, Mohonbhog, Gopalbhog, Sitabhog etc. The mango tree is our national tree.
Jack fruits: In Bengali, Jack fruit is called 'Kanthal'. It is a giant among fruits. It has rough and prickly skin. It has many juicy cells inside. It is a composite fruit. The flakes are golden in color and sweet to taste. The seeds inside the flakes are used for making curry. It is our national fruit.
Pineapple: Pineapple is a fruit of the rainy season. It is juicy and tasty. It is a very health-giving fruit. It is a highly palatable and very health-giving fruit. It is said that a glass of pineapple juice in the morning keeps the doctor far away.

Some other fruits: The Lichis, Blackberries, Dates, Melons, Figs-native apples, Star apples, Wood apple Pomegranates, Tamarind, and Kamranga are some of our common fruits. Lichis are sweet and flavoury and are in wi demand in summer. The Melon is also a very good fruit. Its watery juice cools and refreshes people during summer.
